01 — The short answer
Staying south or north of town? Message first, then travel.
If you need PEP in Jomtien, Naklua, Pratumnak or Wongamat, message us before you set off, so we can give you the earliest time and exact directions.
Our clinic is in Pattaya, and none of these areas is far away. What matters more than the distance is the clock. PEP must start within 72 hours of a possible exposure and works best within 2 hours, so the right first step is a message, not a search for the closest building.
PEP must be started within 72 hours of exposure. The sooner, the better.
Guidance only, not a diagnosis. If you are unsure, contact us straight away.
New to the topic? Start with what HIV PEP is, then check the 72-hour PEP window.

02 — The map
Jomtien, Naklua and Pratumnak: where they sit.
All four areas belong to greater Pattaya, strung along one stretch of coast.
Pattaya City’s own yearly report from Pattaya City describes a municipality with around 15 km of coastline, with Naklua as one of its sub-districts. Naklua and Wongamat lie to the north of the central beach. Pratumnak Hill rises at the southern end of the bay, and Jomtien Beach starts just beyond it and runs for roughly 6 km.
Getting to central Pattaya from each area
| Area | Where it is | Rough distance to central Pattaya | Easiest ride |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jomtien | South, beyond Pratumnak Hill | Around 3–5 km, depending on the end of the beach | Baht bus by day, Grab or Bolt at night |
| Pratumnak | The hill between South Pattaya and Jomtien | Usually about a 10-minute drive | App car or motorbike taxi |
| Naklua | North, along Naklua Road | Usually about a 10-minute drive | Baht bus or app car |
| Wongamat | North, on the coast off Naklua Road | About 3 km north of central Pattaya Beach | App car to your door |
Distances and times are approximate and vary with traffic.

03 — Your ride
Baht bus, app or motorbike: choosing your ride.
By day the baht bus is cheap and frequent; late at night a ride-hailing app is usually the calmer choice.
Pattaya’s baht buses, also called songthaews, are shared pick-up trucks that follow set routes. The main loop runs south along Beach Road and back north on Second Road, with branch routes towards Jomtien and Naklua. Services thin out after about 10 p.m., and a quiet street at midnight can mean a long wait.
Transport options at night compared
| Option | Approximate cost (checked September 2026) | Late at night | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared baht bus | Around 15–20 baht per person | Sparse after about 10 p.m. | Ring the buzzer to stop; pay when you get off |
| Chartered baht bus | Often a few hundred baht | Available, price varies | Agree the fare before you get in |
| Grab or Bolt | Roughly 150–250 baht for Jomtien to the centre | Usually the most reliable option | Fixed price shown before you book |
| Motorbike taxi | Short hops from about 40 baht | Found at stands on main roads | Agree the fare and wear the helmet |
Fares rose in April 2026, so small differences are normal. If you tell a baht bus driver a specific destination, they may treat it as a private hire, so check the price first.

04 — Tonight
In your hotel room at 2 a.m.? Here is the plan.
Don’t wait for morning to decide: send us a message now, while it is fresh in your mind.
Sending a message costs nothing, and it means we can offer you the earliest available time as soon as we reply. If the exposure involved a broken condom, our guide on what to do if a condom breaks covers the first hour.
What to do in the next hours from your hotel
| When | Do this | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Right now | Note the date and time of the exposure | It tells us how much of the 72 hours is left |
| Within minutes | Message us on LINE or WhatsApp | We reply with a time and directions as soon as we can |
| Before you leave | Book a Grab or Bolt from the hotel lobby | A fixed price and no waiting at the roadside |
| If time is very short | Go to a hospital emergency department | Larger Pattaya hospitals run round-the-clock emergency care |
If you message us outside our opening hours and waiting would take you close to the 72-hour limit, don’t sit it out. A hospital emergency department can assess you and, if appropriate, start PEP, and you can still message us afterwards about follow-up.

05 — Privacy
Nobody needs to know why you are going.
A driver, receptionist or friend only needs a destination, never a reason.
Enter the pin we send into the app and the ride is just a trip across town. Your consultation is private, and what you tell us stays between you and the clinic.
What to say in your first message
- Roughly when the exposure happened, and whether it was a single event.
- Which area you are staying in: Jomtien, Pratumnak, Naklua, Wongamat or central Pattaya.
- Any medicines you take, and whether you have taken PEP or PrEP before.
- Your preferred language: we speak English and Thai.
You don’t need medical words; “I think I need PEP” is enough. Our PEP questions and answers page covers what people most often ask next.

06 — What to bring
Leaving now: just your phone is fine.
Don’t delay your trip to collect paperwork.
It helps to bring a list of your medicines, any recent test results and a way to pay. Our page on what happens at your PEP visit in Pattaya walks through the consultation, the baseline HIV test and your first dose. For budgeting, see the approximate ranges in PEP cost in Pattaya; we confirm the full price before you start.
- Hotel key card and a charged phone: you will want both for the ride back.
- The exposure time written down: worry makes details blur, and the doctor will ask.

07 — Living nearby
Residents of Jomtien and Naklua: testing and PrEP.
You don’t need an emergency to see us.
If you are looking for an HIV test in Jomtien or Naklua, the same rule applies: message us and we’ll suggest the best time. Our guide to HIV testing in Pattaya explains which test to choose and when.
If you have regular exposures, PrEP in Pattaya may suit you better than repeated courses of PEP. You can see everything we offer, including STI screening, on our HIV prevention services page. People searching for PEP in Naklua or Wongamat are welcome for the same services.
08 — Directions
Exact directions: ask us and we send them.
We share the clinic’s location by message, so it opens straight in your map or ride app.
The Directions button on our contact page opens the map, and if you prefer, we can send a pin by LINE or WhatsApp. Tell us which area you are coming from and we’ll suggest the quickest ride at that hour.
Whether you need PEP in Jomtien tonight or a routine check next week, the first step is the same. Message us, then set off.
